Many brides have a vision of how they’d like their wedding marquee to look and we always try to find out what that vision is and to reproduce it for them. However other brides or brides’ mothers want to be pointed in the right direction and there are popular themes of 2019 that we would like to share.

Rustic

There is no doubt that the most popular look this season was the “rustic” look and judging by future orders it is a trend that is set to continue well into 2020 and 2021. What has caused this trend? It could be the increase in music festivals where traditional rustic marquees cover acres of farmland or it could be that we are just becoming less formal as a nation and the rustic look is certainly a more relaxed look.

Creating a rustic wedding is easy – choose your location carefully. We can recommend some stunning rural sites if you want to be off the beaten track. One of our favourite sites is overlooks a stunning lake in the middle of a wood – it is quite breathtakingly beautiful Another site is next to a barn set in glorious countryside. A field can be a perfect spot for a rustic-themed wedding and there is no reason why you can’t have a rustic wedding in your own garden as well. Decorations are important when you are creating the rustic look. We have old ladders that we suspend from the ceiling and florists have great fun decorating. Rustic trestle tables and ‘weathered oak’ french cross-back chairs are perfect to complete the look. And you don’t have to hire tablecloths either! Have a look at our traditional canvas marquees with their unique castellated valances and green wood finials with wood side poles and central poles.

Formal elegance

Formal weddings are still very popular and at White Horse Marquees we are experts in creating a formal yet elegant and lovely setting for your wedding. Long trestle tables with crisp white tablecloths and our smart limewash chairs with ivory pads are very good looking and perfect for a wedding reception. Our round white bar fits cleverly around the central pole or elsewhere and is very smart and looks even more formal when a uniformed bar person stands inside. Round tables to seat 10 or 12 can look very smart too. Both types of table can be dressed with candelabra or the most magnificent flower arrangements. We can recommend a number of exceptional florists who can transform the space and flowers are offset perfectly in one of our canvas marquees. The flat ivory lining of our marquees with pealights hanging across the ceiling is a really elegant look and has been so popular in 2019. And ….. Let’s not forget White Horse Marquees bespoke indian style window walls in the traditional canvas marquees. It must be stressed that our traditional marquees are canvas not plastic.

imaginary beach wedding

Well, we are pretty land-locked here in Wiltshire so a beach wedding is fairly unlikely for us but we might consider travelling to the seaside. However let’s imagine for a moment how lovely your beach wedding could look. One of our traditional canvas marquees built on the beach on the edge of the dunes with white sand as the flooring. What could be more perfect. Would you have rustic trestles or perhaps round or long trestles with pale turquoise tablecloths? Or you could have white tablecloths with turquoise candles, napkins and tableware. What fun it would be to have a beach wedding. The bride and groom could have their romantic photos on the edge of the water. The natural lighting of a sunset would be heavenly. Perhaps logistics and permissions could be tricky but it is a very romantic idea. Dreamy.
